To deliver a participatory platform science program to engage primary school students in kauri dieback within the Waitakere Ranges Regional Park, and Coromandel Peninsula through a student engagement program
Co-creation of survey and sampling device using 3D-printing technology from AUT. Stream-based surveillance of kauri dieback areas, by sampling the water of streams using a “bait cassette” created by the students.
Discovery of new Nothophytophthora species and P. plurivora from stream waters. A cross-cultural experience for students from two different regions, and learning about how to “do” science, through a very “hands-on” experience.
